APPOINTMENTS, FEES AND REBATES
The majority of appointments I offer are 50-55 minutes. This is standard for most psychology appointments and (in most instances) allows clients to receive the maximum rebate from Medicare or private health insurance.
My fees are as follows (as of 1/1/2024)
+ 50-55 minute $260
The recommended fee from the Australian Psychological Society is $315 for a standard 50 minute appointment. My fees remain lower than this fee.
Generally, my fee will increase by $10 every 12 months, commencing 1 January.
My fees for additional services are below
+ Phone call with other professionals when requested by clients (15 minutes or longer - charged $50 per extra 15 minutes)
+ Supporting documentation (15 minutes or longer - charged $50 per extra 15 minutes)
Brief phones calls with other professionals and simple supporting documentation (e.g. those that take 15 minutes or less) are provided at no additional cost.
Referrals and Rebates
You can choose to consult with myself privately, or be referred by a GP or Psychiatrist. If you choose to attend privately, you do not need a referral. If you have private health cover, you may receive a rebate from your health fund, depending on your level of cover.
If you are referred by a GP or psychiatrist with an eligible referral, you will receive up to 10 rebated sessions per calendar year.
Full payment is required at the time of the session. HICAPS is available on site to process private health fund claims. Medicare claims are completed online by my admin team. The rebate will be processed into the bank account the client has connected to Medicare online through myGov.org.au.
The Medicare rebate is set every 12 months from 1 July. Please see the link at the bottom of the page for the current rebate information from Medicare.
It is also important to note that couples therapy is not eligible to be claimed under a Mental Health Treatment Plan. You may be able to claim couples therapy under private health insurance, but please confirm with your fund.
It is the client's responsibility to ensure that if utilizing a Mental Health Treatment Plan, that re-referrals are sought from their GP as required. Generally, clients are required to complete a re-referral after 4-6 sessions. This is specified in the GP referral. If a client does not complete the re-referral appointment prior to the necessary appointment (often the 7th appointment), they will be required to pay the usual session fee, but would not be eligible for a rebate.

Cancellation policy
A late cancellation fee will apply for cancellations made before the day of the appointment (i.e. any cancellation that occurs after 5pm the business day before the scheduled appointment). The fee will be equal to the session fee.
